Words cannot describe how giddy I am that you’re reacting to this. Legit, after the likes of Doctor Who, this is one of my favourite shows. I adore this first season. Chris Carter the creator of the show, initially kinda pitched it as The Silence of the Lambs with supernatural/alien vibes, and I so adore that vibe. Just saying though, if you thought some of the stuff in this pilot was grizzly, you don’t even wanna know what you’re getting into! 😂🤢

I was an X Files fanatic; even when I had to hide behind a cushion (I'm such a coward lol) I never missed an episode and it was the main topic of conversation with the guy who sat across from me in the office the day after it aired. The truth is out there! Ps I was a Farscape fan too 🙂

I've watched a bunch of X-Files with my mom, we had a lot of the early stuff owned on VCR casettes, either bought or recorded from TV. This might be the first time I watch it all the way through though. Already I'm shouting at the screen 'CSM!'. Also there are a few characters in this show that crop up in Stargate too so that's going to be fun to see you react to. There are also a few comedic episodes but they are far and few between but the episodes themselves never lack any comedic moments so all in all I'm glad I voted for it.

One Who Walks Behind

My sister was a huge X Files fan growing up, and the rest of us followed along to one degree or another. It has some common ground with SG1 in that it frequently mixes humor into the episodes. Granted mixing it with the paranormal more than SG1's standard scifi fare, but it is a fun show. Also the format of the series allows a HUGE range of stories from alien abduction to demonic/supernatural to government conspiracy to unknown diseases/lifeforms. There's a massive variety of stories in this series, so you never know what it's gonna throw at you. Also keeping a slim cast(just 2 real primary characters) means both get fleshed out quickly and thoroughly. Also I havent seen this show in almost 20 years, so this'll be fun.

X Files was such a huge deal when it came out (and rightly so) The pop culture references alone are so wide reaching. It also introduced us to the notion of 'The Thinking Man's Totty' (the medias words not mine) and blew up Gillian Anderson as a sex symbol with a brain.

I'm so excited to go on this journey! Season 1 is a bit slow getting started but this show has some of the funniest, scariest, and most iconic episodes ever made for tv. You'll see a lot of familiar faces too.

The only thing I know about this show is that it holds the record with Stargate for most actor crossovers in sci-fi drama... And something about a smoking man and a well-manicured man. I saw the movie in theaters but I'm pretty unfamiliar with the show on a whole. At the beginning, Mulder asked about extraterrestrials and I just heard Sam Carter's words coming out of Scully's mouth. All that being said, I'm ok with this. It pulled me in, I'm curious, and I want to believe.

X-files is one of the OGs of fanbase creators. It came out just when the internet was taking off and fans connected online to discuss the episodes. Before this you could only talk to who you knew around you and if they were not into the show you were stuck enjoying it alone. With the x-files you had BBS and IRC groups formed to connect fans from all over the world which really helped solidify the show in peoples minds as they talked theories and what they thought of the latest episode. The show itself is really solid and a whole ton of fun and I hope you continue with it.

I very much doubt that you won't enjoy this show. I love stargate and I rate this show only slightly below stargate. I love that you're getting into this and can't wait for more EPs and more great shows and thank you so much for being such a great and consistent content creator, much love and support, I wish great things for you
