I love the story for this series. I don't care that it feels different/more American as RTD was still very much in charge and this is the direction he wanted to go. Plus the storyline is on a global scale, so it can't just be set in Cardiff all the time. It feels more cinematic and I like that =D

2020-07-25 21:51:42 +0000 UTCThis is my least favourite season of Torchwood. Not a fan of the change here. Torchwood should have ended with Series 3. This season to me just isn't Torchwood anymore. It just feels more like an American show that just features Jack and Gwen. I have so many issues with this final series but I'm gonna reserve my thoughts until you finish it. I can't predict if you'll enjoy it or not but this is personally where my interest with Torchwood ends (aside from 1 episode).

Him and Julie Gardner were in favour of it being mainly set in the US and there were seasons planned after this one. After everything that happened in COE, it made sense for this season to be set in other places as the Torchwood hub was destroyed.

2020-07-25 21:23:03 +0000 UTCAs a premise it’s very Torchwood and done well. But as a series it’s unfortunately a cash grab from the BBC and turning a great show into a copycat American crime show. I really miss Cardiff being the main setting.

2020-07-25 18:09:11 +0000 UTCI’m definitely in the camp of people that like this season. Yes it’s very different tonally to all the previous seasons with a new American production house, but I don’t equate the difference with it being bad. It’s just a change.
