If you look at the lunch lady's emails, you can see one titled Buzz Hickey memorial service.

Curious where the information about Neil's actor being pissed comes from?

You mentioned the Sony leak around the same time and yeah, this was a direct parody of that. Community was a Sony show and Joel McHale was in that hack, scandalously asking if Sony could use their influence to (gasp) get him a discount on a Sony TV haha. But all these feelings were in the air at the time: people were largely saying we should see and support The Interview precisely because it was being suppressed, but there was a general uneasiness too about the morality of privacy and reading the Sony leaks (originally thought to be North Korea; now thought to have been a Sony employee) and a sense of "Is a James Franco / Seth Rogen movie worth getting death threats over?" Personally, this is my least favorite of the "secrets" trilogy, but those are two of the best episodes of the show and this is one of the better episodes of Season 6. Britta is great as you and some other commentors have pointed out, but I feel like they have dried up the well of "secrets" from the first two. Compare Abed tracking menstrual cycles, creating a fake boyfriend for Annie, and putting tracking devices in people to... saying Annie doesn't get Donnie Darko. It's not surprising that the revelations that have the most "punch," like Annie drugging the group and Jeff keeping Britta's panties, come from Frankie and Elroy. Still, there is a lot of great lines and call-backs in this episode. It was great to see Neil again, although his actor was pissed at the material this time and you can actually see him shove the door open with an irritated expression on his face when he was supposed to have just walked in normally in the script. Frankie and Elroy's bafflement that the story started with Jeff and Britta romantically interested in each other in a study group for Chang's Spanish class shows how far Community has come in its six years. "And frankly, haven't been as well utilized since" is a line that cuts like a knife.

I think the former is supposed to be intention, but there is also a minor running gag that Jeff finds Britta hotter in glasses and I think she wears them in the S4 premiere.

Oh BTW... Feb 7th 2013, the date Jeff rated Britta higher than Annie, is also the date of the season 4 premiere. Ha! This can be taken in 2 ways to me... 1. It being the gas leak season, it's a symbol representing how that season wasn't the real Community, because in the real Community Jeff will always choose Annie. 2. The first thing Jeff notices when he sees Britta for the first time in the episode, is how far her relationship with Troy has progressed.. and as we've seen with Duncan, he's more into Britta when other people are into Britta.

Britta's monologue in this episode is even more relevant now. It's also the speech that made her into my favorite character in the last 2 seasons.
