Although, it really is to be expected with old tv shows and their formats. Stargate, Smallville (another great show you should check out Faily), etc. it just comes with the territory. Take the laughs and on to the next one!

There are some fun moments ( Willow going all FBI being one) but most of the time it’s just very...fishy. The swim team is one dimensional, including the bad guy. They are just a bunch of Larrys at the beginning of episode 15.

2020-07-23 02:06:18 +0000 UTCI think the plot in this one is pretty good overall right up until you get to the line "During the Soviet Union". Like... What dude? WHAT?! It's just so out of left field. I guess it's all supposed to be a sort of metaphor for the way athletes are sometimes given special treatment and the way many hurt their bodies with steroids, but that coach is NUTS. And somehow he convinced the nurse to help him? Jesus. I thought you yelling "Careful! Your neck!" when Angelus popped up was pretty funny. I have mixed feelings about this one in general. A lot of the first two acts were done well with plenty of suspects and red herrings, even a few jumpscares and a solid twist. I enjoy Cordy's reaction when she thinks Xander got turned into a fish person. And Johnathan gets a little shine as a tertiary character, which is nice since he's been around here and there for most of the series. I just wish they could have come up with a better motivation for the coach. I don't know, maybe the Hellmouth just attracts guys like him or maybe it exacerbates whatever issues he's already got. But like you said it's a HIGH SCHOOL swim team.

2020-07-22 22:55:10 +0000 UTCI don't hate this episode, but I hate the placement. This is one of the problems for me with the 20+ episode TV arc. It is just too many episodes for most types of series, and you get badly placed filler episodes that slow down the excitement and build up. A good show can manage to make even filler episodes have a sprinkling of good overall plot., but I prefer a tightly packed 12 or under episode season.

I love your reactions; you always break things down so well. I also really like Cordy & Xander's relationship and their snark with each other.

2020-07-22 18:37:38 +0000 UTCOne of my all-time enjoyable Buffy episodes ..so cool Wentworth Miller is in this oops I'm sorry I meant aka Chris Redfield aka resident evil afterlife lol I'm shocked you weren't surprised like every single other reactor that sees that it was the school team turning skinless themselves. Everyone else was shocked or and impressed with the twist. You didn't seem to noticed. I like when Principal Snyder is nonchalant about hellmouth dark situations happening at school.
