The girl will be back in future episodes, I have noticed most episodes written by Robert C. Cooper are not very good. And did anyone else notice the second time SG-1 returning from the bug planet sent their EDO code and was permitted access to the base before the gate was finished dialing in from the planet?

Rick Stancombe

I'm telling you man, Hammond didn't order that hit on the reporter. He's not that kind of general. This episode is almost like the reverse or Message in a Bottle. Teal'c was fighting pretty hard to save O'Neill from an alien infection/influence in that episode, and O'Neill gets the chance to return the favor here. Also did anyone else get serious X-Files vibes from this episode? And if that had actually been a snickers bar, it would have been a perfect "you're not you when you're hungry" moment. I'm not terribly fond of this one myself. Season 2 is kind of a mixed bag. It has some really amazingly good episodes, and some real stinkers, and a bunch like this that are meh. I will say though that I think you misread the 15 phone calls bit. She said if Teal'c didn't tell her what to do she would get the cops. Teal'c obviously told her to call O'Neill at the SGC. This being before widespread cell phones though, she had to get transferred through a whole bunch of security and stuff before actually talking to Jack. I do like the ending because Teal'c is finally starting to loosen up and have fun a bit more now. Overall though this is one I just kind of "get through" on rewatches. Also not related, but a fun clip for SG1 fans https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9E1sNl0lVY

The SG1 cast were goofballs on set, so yeah they had a lot of fun. The production environment was great. Also Shanks and Judge are/were best friends.

Maybourne always makes for great dialogue from the team. Hammond's "that wasn't an invitation, it was an order, colonel!!" back in Enigma is one of my favourite lines from Hammond. I wonder what Teal'c will say if he and Maybourne meet again?

I loved seeing Christopher Judge nearly break character when he sprayed Michael. I wonder if it took more than one take. I'd like to think they had as much fun on set as the Supernatural cast does.

Shade Koar

more stargate. yaaaaay :D

I agree, not a bad episode but not a great one either. There are certainly much better ones before and after this. However it does have one of my favourite Jack lines of any season. "General Hammond request permission to beat the crap out of this man." 🤣

Daryl

I'm very glad you're upping the amount of SG-1 reactions!

Arn

This one is interesting because Teal'c finally gets away from the base and we see him on the outside, amongst the locals, and that's always neat.

Brent Justice

SHHHHH!

A slower episode, admittedly, but the next double-header makes up for it, at least I think so. Looking forward to it 🙃

I liked how you picked up on the fact they reused music from "The Nox". They did reuse music from previous episodes rather frequently and sometimes, like here, it was a little jarring when they used a recognizeable theme in a scene where it didn't really apply.

Ugly Pig

Not a major episode plot development wise, but a good solid midseason episode with minor character development. Teal'c doesn't get out too often, but this definitely won't be the last time he gets to check out life on Earth away from the base.

James Yancy

Really like that "fuck 12"

James jackson

"....surprise Cassandra cameo or something..." Funny you should say that.... 😉😉
