2020-07-28 03:55:03 +0000 UTCWhen's Mocking Jay Part 2 dropping bruv
2020-07-28 03:22:27 +0000 UTCI like Mockingjay because it's a bit of a subversion of expectations. I won't say too much until you finish the second half, but the grim ending here is fairly amazing--you expect a triumphal moment like Plutarch clearly expected Coin's speech to be, but instead of focusing on it, the cheers are going on in the background while the wounded hero looks in on a loved who who lost his mind from torture. Not exactly the medal ceremony at the end of Star Wars!

2020-07-17 05:19:35 +0000 UTCI liked it, too. It made me wish that Catching Fire had been a two-parter as well--easily split between the victory tour and the quarter quell. I get why they put Effie here, but I admit, as a fanfic writer who had made great hay of Haymitch's worry when Effie wasn't rescued with the victors, I was disappointed that now half the fandom thinks she was in D13. ;p In general, I think that movies are good at telling discrete stories, and 2 particularly had two extremely separate stories that both felt rushed in the film. Novels can handle the sequential stories in one bite better than movies can.

2020-07-12 03:33:23 +0000 UTCThis movie gets a lot of flack, but I enjoy the slower pace. I think there's more than enough ground to cover to justify splitting the book into two. Like you said, there's more room for world building and that's one of the great strengths of this series.

2020-07-09 20:27:58 +0000 UTCI enjoyed watching this morning. I loved the change of pace for this one. Although 1 and 2 were slightly different, it was great to see that the next chapter wasn't going to be a slight rehash of the same formula. Always unnerves me when Peeta body slams Katniss twice with his hands around her throat. I think it's a very visceral scene. After seeing him look so emaciated, he doesn't look capable of that level of violence.

2020-07-09 13:39:12 +0000 UTCI was definitely excited for you to see Amos was in this movie! And the woman you couldn't figure out who she was, was Margaery Tyrell in GoT!
