UNEDITED EXCLUSIVE: Stargate SG-1 Season 2 Episode 5 REACTION!

Oh man this episode...the scene with Daniel absolutely beating the shit out of that guy was such a departure from how he usually acts that the first time I watched this episode I had to get up and start pacing. Also Jack being able to bring Daniel "back to earth" makes me sad every time. Having that slow zoom out with the two of them shown in darkness as Daniel is just crying? Gets me every time.

As soon as you guessed his vision would be fixed and that the sarcophagus takes your soul, I knew there would be a "put me in the writer's room" moment. Not really one of my favourite episodes. It mostly serves to establish the lore of the sarcophagus and how it changes you, but admittedly the addiction angle was played quite well. Michael Shanks really is a great actor. Can't wait till you see the next episode.

Why would you come into the comments of a guy who is watching the show for the first time specifically to react to it and then post a bunch of things that are going to change the way he reacts to it? in truth I STILL ask myself that question. Daniel has been killed once and mortally wounded twice and revived with no immediate ill effect, as have others. And that one guy in season 6 is killed and revived a bunch of times without going all evil. Plus Danny does return to his old self. So don't use it for a beautification session, but reviving dead SG team members would be totally fine.

So now you can see Jolinar's memories are coming through here, the blending must have left more than just memories if she can sense Goa'uld. And the Sarcophagus, while amazing for injuries, is not so good if used when not injured, messes with the mind.

Really great episode. Ties up the convenience of sarcophagus. Adds a small note of how the Tok'ra are different. Touches on addiction. Michael kills it in this one.

They pretty much had to make an episode around the sarcophagus. showing that using it has a downside. Otherwise every time someone died the watchers would constantly ask themselves. hey! why dont they go steal a sarcophagus. that solves all the problems.
