Him killing Dumbledor was what he promised to do in the beginning! He had to or else he would die from the unbreakable vow

2020-11-26 00:21:04 +0000 UTCHonestly, Snape being revealed to be the Prince doesn’t actually do anything to really add anything, it’s kinda just an explanation reveal here for a reveal’s sake, less so in the book. Also, you’re like one of the only ones who’ve praised the colour filter in this movie. For me, I guess I get what they were going for, dark and dreary colours for a darker drearier movie in the series, but in scenes that are the opposite of that, it just has no purpose, and more like someone threw coffee on the camera lenses and forgot to clean it off lol This is the last weak movie in the series IMO, DH Pt 1 suffers from Part 1 syndrome but if watched like back to back with Pt 2 it’s great. HBP is just a real slow burner for me, up until the last half hour or so, once we get to the cave, from then on, it’s top tier Potter. Dumbledore’s death scene is just painfully sad, the music, the momentary feeling that all is lost seeing the Great Hall being wrecked, only beef here is that the confrontation with Snape and Harry in the book is so much better, he properly taunts Harry about using his own spells against him, and kinda bodies him for calling him a coward. CANNOT wait to jump into your Deathly Hallows reactions, now we’re nearing the end of the series, I wonder how you felt at this point about the story of the series so far as a whole?

2020-06-22 12:43:46 +0000 UTCOkay, I may be wrong, but I’m pretty sure Lavender was leaning on Ron’s knee. It sounds like he was saying, “oww, my knee” vs “Hermione”.

2020-04-17 05:26:20 +0000 UTCIts interesting watching these reactions. I used to be a big harry potter fan of the books and the movies continually disappointed me because for the most part they played has like sparknotes for the books as opposed to adaptations from the books if that makes sense. So i haven't ever really watched any of them more than once. But revisiting them now i think i like them more than I did. The one thing that i still miss that they cut from the books is the battle that happens at Hogwarts after dumbledore is killed when the death eaters are trying to leave. Its one of my favorite moments and their reason for cutting it was so dumb. It would be like cutting out helms deep because the next movie is basically one big battle. So silly.

2020-04-09 02:23:15 +0000 UTCI remember feeling really sleepy in the theater throughout the movie until the 2nd act. I think the general vibe and the colors in the movie was so... dark and dull? But after a lot of rewatches, it's definitely became one of my fav hp movies. Though there were alot of stuff they didn't touch upon and cut from the book. Especially involving around Voldy's past. Also, your reaction to Harry's high on Felix Felicis! I laughed so hard tge first time! DanRad was made for doing comedies! He's really good at it! And Micheal Gambon's acting as Dumbledore in this was so so so good and so perfect, it took me awhile to actually warmed up to him after Richard Harris' absolute perfect potrayal. Harris had that warm fuzzy feeling as Dumbledore in the first two. But Gambon's emotional scenes in this was made to perfection. That scene when he begged Harry to kill him was heart wrenching and he broke my heart. Thanks for this reaction faily! Can't wait for HP7 p1 now! It's one of my top fav! <3

2020-03-27 21:47:35 +0000 UTCThank you for this reaction, it was very good again this time. I appreciate that, as do we all. I really enjoyed this movie. THe reveal that Snape is the HBP and that he kills Dumbledore was shocking. However, back when this movie and books were being released (this is actually before the movie was made) back when the books were being sold, and this particular book came out, it was spoiled quite a bit that Snape kills Dumbledore. In fact, it was a huge Internet meme at the time "Snape Kills Dumbledore" and it was spoiled all over the place when the book came out. I remember that, cause I remember people use to stay up for the books launching and get them at the book store as soon as they opened, and then that meme started on the Internet and it was plastered everywhere. So when I watched the movie for the first time I had already been spoiled. Might have been a bigger impact had I not known, but what can ya do, it was all over the Internet, couldn't avoid it.

2020-03-25 04:40:11 +0000 UTCIt didn't come out of nowhere in the books, it was quite obvious from the beginning with all the hints.
2020-03-25 04:13:39 +0000 UTCThe book is pretty much all about the Half-Blood Prince and Harry and Dumbledore exploring Voldemort’s background. There are a lot of memories about Voldemort’s life in the book that they cut

2020-03-24 23:31:15 +0000 UTCHey so it's never really explained in the films but Snape is the half-blood prince because he is half blood (his mom was a witch and dad was a muggle), and his mom's maiden name was Prince. Enjoyed the reaction. Looking forward to the next one. :)

2020-03-24 21:08:37 +0000 UTCLove the reaction! I really liked this one. I agree about the romance, it was just rushed a bit, well Ginny and Harry's at least. Books built Ginny up much better, she's funny and spunky and has an attitude and has always been into Quidditch and always been one of the strongest of her class. In the movie, I feel her being on the Quidditch team, or her being at the Slug Club (because she's the best caster of the Bat Bogey Hex that Professor Slughorn has seen), it sort of comes out of nowhere in the movies. The whole romance is much better too as it has more time to develop (like Ron and Hermione's has). Also, the book has much much more of the Voldemort backstory, and while the assassination is going on there's a battle in the Astronomy Tower between the Death Eaters and the some of the Order of the Phoenix + some of the last movie's Dumbledore's Army, like Ginny and Neville. That being said, I still love the movie. I like it a lot. It's just not in contention for 1st place in the series for me, while the book is.

2020-03-24 19:16:03 +0000 UTCI've been waiting all day for this and didn't disappoint. I'm not a big book purist. Stephen Fry read them to me once. As I was listening one of the things that struck me and always comes to mind when I watch this one. Is battle sequence as Snape and the other death eaters are leaving the school, it would of been cool to see that played out on screen. There are lots of bits omitted. But that particular part could of been very cinematic I thought.

2020-03-24 19:05:47 +0000 UTCThe one gripe I’ve always had with this film is that they cut out all of Voldemort’s backstory. That stuff was the best part of the book. It was fascinating. I am a HUGE Hermione/Ron shipper, so I loved all their interactions in this one. Harry/Ginny didn’t work at all. It came out nowhere in the books too imo.

Greg
2020-03-24 14:01:41 +0000 UTCI think the Film isn't the best.. the book is way superior .. they have too much focus on the love parts and WAY to less on voldemorts backward story :( also book ginny > film ginny ! ps.: there is a big funeral in the books! <3
