"Young" Mai being attracted to Trunks is awkward overall but not that weird, she is like 30. The fact that she is in a kid body is the weird part, but Trunks is not hitting on her while she looks like that he was just happy to see her alive so I have no issue with it. The part that actually makes me uncomfortable is young Mai with young trunks. Their ages are like 12 and 30 😭 . Idk why tf she blushing when he says some stuff when he is 12, maybe she became more childlike metally when she reverted? Or just embarrassed? IDK. Then the show acts like they should get togetherright then and there, jesus. In the future timeline I think it's fine cause they got together after they were both adults, and I assume Trunks is fully grown and of age at that point. If he wants to date a 40 something year old in the apocalypse who looks 20 be my guest. I would too lmao.
