In ancient Paleo Hebrew the language used numbers as letters. The 7th letter was known as the zaiyan which is why the anime is centered around 7 dragon balls and the sayians because they are pronounced the same. It also means to penetrate or to use a sword or to make "lucky" as is designated by a middle finger. That's why you see dragons ball z characters on merchandise flipping people the bird because it's a reference to the f word.

Kinda sets the foundations for Goku's "always gotta keep training cuz there's always someone stronger."
