That was when this power was hinted at. It will all make sense. You can finish the arc and go back to it if you wanna clear up why luffy suddenly got this power out of nowhere. But it's totally just fine not to watch it as well and just think of it as the power of friendship i guess haha

I thankfully don't have to fight for my goals in this kind of way and I like my ability to swim, even poorly, haha. If I were to live in the world of One Piece I might think differently, but then my goals and dreams would likely not be the same as they are now.

Of course, the thing Luffy is doing would only work if you have resilient organs, such as being made of rubber, since he’s basically pushing his blood pressure to it’s max to increase blood flow exponentially.
