2021-11-06 17:44:53 +0000 UTCHonestly I think Sarada and boruto do a lot to make Kawaki feel at ease in the village. Naruto is super warm and comforting trying to make Kawaki feel safe. That's not something Kawaki has ever had so it probably feels super weird and he can't relate. Sarada and boruto are welcoming but are a less cozy about it. They challenge Kawaki and call him out without softening their words. I think them being closer in age and more similar to interactions Kawaki is used to, combative, it helps him to feel more comfortable. And that lets him get more used to naruto and his way of interacting. I could go on for a long time about how effective Sarada and boruto approach is when coupled with naruto. Also so far all of the information kawaki has shared about himself or Kara was directly to boruto. Boruto is getting the Intel for the village and naruto at this point.

2021-11-06 16:48:33 +0000 UTCSometime before Jiraiya went on the Pain mission, he took Naruto to eat ramen to catch up on things and comfort him.. and just like Jiraiya shared his char siu, Naruto shares his to Kawaki as well. Found this parallel kinda symbolic and heartwarming lol

2021-11-06 16:00:01 +0000 UTCloved the reaction to this episode!! this ep warmed heart bc we're seeing exactly what Hiruzen should have done for young Naruto (on screen at least) - this shows how Naruto's childhood is shaping how he interacts with Kawaki who basically has PTSD. Also that moment when Naruto comforts Kawaki and tells him he's safe and the pain on Naruto's face 🥺 we can see he's really caring for Kawaki now.
