It's actually the same with Mitsuki and Sarada. The manga has barely enough room for Boruto, Kawaki, Naruto and a bit Sasuke. I love 80% of what the anime does with it's spare time. Much better than in Shippuden, they really learned a lot from the earlier two shows in my eyes. I always say shippuden was a 10/10 for 50% of the time and a 3/10 for the other 50%. Boruto is a 10/10 for 30% of the time but a 7/10 for the rest. The peaks hit less frequent but just as hard as in Shippuden, yet the general level of anime content is of higher quality.

In the manga the first time you see him is when him and Konohamaru show up at the blimp. When he dies, there is literally nothing to care about. The anime canon made him a loved character.

Such a great role model : ( RIP
