2021-05-09 20:54:04 +0000 UTCFrom my understanding the finger was a cursed object that was placed to protect the school, but with time the seal got weaker and became more an attraction for curses instead, so Fushiguro was asked to go collected it before it would start attractive bigger and more dangerous curses. As for who placed it there and why one of Sukuna’s fingers rather then another cursed object, who knows. I mean, he was probably asked to collect it because it was one of the most powerful cursed objects, but the fact that the seal was weakening was just an extra reason to do so
