"We had to do this in secret" > attacks leaf village guards with the intent to kill So I get that contacting Orochimaru for info on his experiments probably wouldn't work because there's stuff about Mitsuki that he doesn't want the leaf to know, but then why wouldn't he interfere when Mitsuki is getting involved in another experiment where they're attempting to get info on him? What if the stuff Orochimaru doesn't want to be known ends up getting leaked by whatever Ohnoki is doing? Hope this gets cleared up. I'm also hung up on why the hell Inojin and Chocho just ignored two comrades from the same village frozen in the middle of the forest. At least send back word via one of those messenger birds or something so they can get some help since I assume Inojin and Chocho wouldn't know what to do with them. I'm hoping all these Genin get some kind of punishment once this is all said and done lol

This is actually one of my least favorite arc.. the whole purpose and conclusion of this arc is great but the plot is boring. Its too slow and long.

Orochimaru wouldnt get involved even if they texted him, He wants to see what happens without his interference i get the feeling his experiment with mitsuki is to basically see what choices he makes and how he lives his life

Why, that's a lot of interesting predictions you've come up with in this episode that may or may not end up being true. ;b As for the curse mark, Orochimaru was somewhat vague on the actual conditions of it, but it was more or less said it would activate if someone were to find out what Mitsuki is and he'd self-destruct. Likely not literally but more along the lines of finer details of how Mitsuki functions. Mitsukis facial expressions and commentary in this episode are very much on point, too. We don't get to hear any of his thoughts, but there are a lot of very obvious, clear reactions to things that give you a good idea of what's on his mind at any given point. Meanwhile, the rest of the Konoha Genin are confronted with a quick need to change plans as their go-to help has turned out to be someone very much involved with this whole mess. Nothing on the horizon but more challenges to overcome to get this whole situation sorted and cleared up! I feel bad for Shikadaji to be the only one who happened to get caught here, but on the other hand he's level headed enough to not do something stupid to try and resolve this, so with anyone being caught here he's probably the one who has the best chance to somehow turn this into an advantage.

Remember when Sai and other Anbu has Danzo's Curse Mark on their tongue had they leaked anything potentially harmful to Danzo, Sai would be paralyzed. Mitsuki's Curse Mark from Orochimaru is on his heart, the same idea..but his heart would explode!
