To me Ed looking like his dad is a homage to Hohenheim. There is also the contrast between Hohenheim’s picture with his family and Ed’s picture with his family. I love this anime. Thank you for reacting to it. :)

Really enjoyed re-watching one of my favorite shows with you man. This was one of the first anime I watched. The song played at the end will always give me big, nostalgic feels.

He's actually all the things Jack said. He's wearing Hohenheim's jacket, as well as wearing his hair in a ponytail like him rather than a braid, and even has his suitcase.

JACK YOU GOTTA WATCH THE BLOOPERS! Also, this ending totally could set up for a sequel series. We got an older version of Ed and Al traveling across the world. We've got Mustang as Fuhrer with his squad holding down Central command. We've got the crazy adventures of Scar and Miles spreading the teachings of Ishvahl. Plus the ending photo of Izumi glaring down at the camera hints at her having another pupil to train, perhaps Ed and Winry's kids? Maybe the new series is based on the new principal that Al and Ed are trying to develop, and perhaps that gives rise to some crazy new alchemy, abilities, etc. As long as the tone and the characters stay true to the original, I think it could be amazing

It make sense that Ed looks like Hohenheim as he’s his son 😂 And in the end he got his happy ending too by growing up taller to the point of passing Winry’s hight 😂

This is probably still the best ending episode of a series that I’ve ever seen. As it wraps up everything so well, while also leaving a potential open ending for those who like that.

I just want to point out that Al didn’t sacrifice his arm, he sacrificed his entire soul to get ed’s arm back. Because originally when he lost his body Ed sacrificed his arm to bind his soul to the armour. so what actually happened is his soul went to his body in the portal of truth and in exchange Ed got his arm back. So when he sacrificed his portal of truth he wasn’t just bringing back al’s body he was also bringing back his soul.
