2021-01-03 02:41:54 +0000 UTCRegarding the genjutsu, keep in mind that it was cast on a bunch of civilians with no chakra control. They were extremely easy to manipulate even with a lower-level genjutsu. If shinobi had been the target, it wouldn't have been so effective.

2021-01-02 20:37:54 +0000 UTCBoruto has enormous reserves of privilege and ego that he still needs to get over. But he's also a resilient little dude. He's cocky from his skill level so it's good that Sarada and Mitsuki and Konohamuru are there to keep him somewhat in check. It's clear from the "Genin Trials" that he understands team work, but he hasn't internalized it enough to START with that mindset because he keeps knee-jerk reacting and jumping at things on his own in order to "show his stuff". Re-watching this now, I feel like it isn't just the start of an arc, but a fresh start to a new storytelling direction that lays much of the ground for what's to come. As always thanks for the great commentary!
