2020-08-17 11:41:57 +0000 UTCMustang's line " it's a terrible day for rain " has a double meaning, to cover up his tears but also because Mustang is often called useless in the rain because he cant make sparks. Mustang was feeling useless and powerless.

I've seen this episode so many times, 6 times watching the anime, and countless reactions, and I still cry during the funeral scenes. Also; Riza in episode 1 said to mustang βyouβre useless on rainy daysβ Episode 10: βitβs a terrible day for rain.β

On top of Mustang trying to cover up the fact that he was crying, the fact that his flame alchemy (and him by extension) are useless on rainy days can also mean that "it's a terrible day for rain" means that Mustang feels useless without Hughes :(

I think it adds a nice added layer to his emotion in that scene and makes it even more powerful
