Witch on the Holy Night is one of Nasu's best works IMO. If he starts with the VN's I can almost say he has to start with that one. Not just because of how good it is, but because of how it portrays the world and a lot of the systems Nasu uses in different works that he still has problems with.

Some minor things here and there. -The cafe Anhenerbe is in fact the same of movie 3 yeah. -Why Shiki can cut the future. Normally the future is a non tangible thing, so she cannot cut it. What she cut was the future that Mitsuru was seeing. Since he gave it a form, Shiki could see it and cut it. -There is a continuity error in the movie. The fact that Azaka is still in her previous school uniform. Since in movie 3 (July) she already had the uniform and was a really close friend of Fujino. So she had been in Reien (the school) for quite a while. But here (August) she still didn't have the uniform. -The funny thing about the Gameboy is that in the game Touko is refusing to let her sister join her party. Yeah... that is actually pretty funny considering her relationship with her actual sister. Let's just say that. -Yeah, we all want a spin-off of Mana... but is probaly never going to happen. 2. So Fate/Extra Last Encore is not an adaptation of Fate/Extra (Game) is actually a sequel for that game. And I don't think Fate/Extra Record (Remake of Fate/Extra) is going to be the same in various things. Is probably going to have big changes since is a remake. So I don't know if will still count as a prequel for Fate/Extra Last Encore 3. Fate/strange fake airing next year... yeah, probably. That is if they don't delay the thing AGAIN. 4. So regarding of what to read after Fate/Grand Order. I have a recommendation. That is to read Witch on the Holy Night. But why? You see, in April next year Fate/Grand Order is going to have a collaboration event with Witch on the Holy Night. And for that event I think it would be ideal to have read Witch on the Holy Night. Apart from that there are other reasons. -Witch on the Holy Night is not that long unlike Tsukihime and Fate visual novels. Is the shortest one. -It also have probably the best visuals on any Type-Moon visual novel. So since I think this will be your first proper Visual Novel, it would help you as an introduction to the world of VNs and not making it that heavy. So that is my recommendation. You will decide on what to do. 5. Finally, since you are watching Carnival Phantasm next I leave the list of content for that one. 1. Carnival Phantasm (12 episode, 12 minutes each) 2. Carnival Phantasm: EX Season (1 episode, 20 minutes) 3. Carnival Phantasm: HibiChika Special (1 episode, 24 minutes) 4. Carnival Phantasm: Illya's Castle Special (1 episode, 8 minutes, this one is actually on Youtube) Also watch Fate/Protorype after the final episode of the Carnival Phantasm (12 episodes). You see, Prototype was actually a special that was aired right after that final episode. There is also a connecting "plot" between the two. So take a look at Fate/Prototype OVA after episode 12. That's it, see ya in the last movie!
