Her Friends- Ch.1

New story time!

The goal of this story is to lean as hard as I can into fluff. Pure, fun, sexy fluff. Character and plot and theme are all great things for a story to have, but Performance Improvement Plan got way too bogged down with them for a piece of erotic fiction, and I want Her Friends to pivot as hard in the other direction as possible. Effectively, this story is just meant to be a vessel for erotic vignettes with lots of sizeplay and lots of mommydom stuff. I don't have a sense of where it's going in the long term, and I don't even necessarily care if it comes to an ending per se; I'm gonna be adding chapters to it for a while here to help me get back into the habit of churning out the goods, but I can easily imagine dropping it at some point, then picking it back up when I have more ideas, and then dropping it again, and so on. I might even end up deciding I want to double back and branch off of a previous chapter and take things in a different direction; I initially thought about busting out my rudimentary Twine skills to make this thing into a piece of interactive fiction, before reminding myself that the whole point here is to make an easy, low-friction story that's easy to write without letting it balloon in complexity. Buuuut that does also sound like kind of a fun project, so maybe we'll see how we're feeling when we're past the first few introductory chapters!

One goal I do want to pursue with this story is, a lot of slow shrink stories play into the horror of the scenario. The fear of losing yourself bit by bit, of becoming more and more dependent on a woman who may or may not have your best interests in mind as she exploits your dwindling size to dominate you more and more. Give Yourself to Me certainly has that kind of horror as an engine to it, and to be clear, I'm not being critical of this trope. There's a very fine line between scary and sexy, and while you could probably write a whole dissertation about this genre of size fic being rooted in societal anxieties about men losing presumed authoritative status over women or whatever, they're also just fun to write and fun to read.

But! I do think it's interesting that myself and many other size writers frame this fantasy we have as an object of horror, that we crank it to a character who isn't enjoying the scenario the way that we enjoy it vicariously through them, or if they do enjoy it they have a deep terrible shame about it, like it's a failure on their part to love to be dominated. So, to the extent that there is any kind of writing challenge in this story, it's that I wanted to avoid using that kind of horror framing. Not unlike Field Research, this is a story about a dude with a submission kink who gets shrunk by a loving partner and her friends, who are going to exploit and dominate and humiliate and fuck the everloving shit out of him, but from a place of love and consent. I feel confident that there's gonna be plenty of sexy good stuff to explore even with that premise!

I already had this story percolating in the back of my mind for a bit, but once I got the commission for Roommates, I considered tossing it on the backburner, because from a thousand-yard distance they're kind of the same story: man gets dominated by a group of women, each of whom are a slightly different flavor of domme. I decided not to, however, in part because I really wanna stick to just following where my heart wants to go for this stuff, and in part because I think there will be enough differences in the specifics to make the stories distinct. If McDonald's can have both the Big Mac and the Quarter Pounder then I think I can get away with running both of these stories at the same time :p
