Morga was the first gem we met in the anime. The pink gem with long hair that wakes Phos and always is making fun of Phos. The statement on 34:40 was more of a "I will do everything in my hand to bring everyone back." Than a malicious statement. Morga was always making fun of Phos, but you can see that Phos really loved them. And yeah, about Lapis head... she basically brought Phos from having 90IQ to 200IQ so yeah, that is seriously one way to change your perspective on the world. You are almost a different person.

Are you also listening to the music or is this inserted while editing? Because I seriously recommend listening to something while reading manga (or anything else). For me it seriously enhances the experience. Well at least when I'm reading something silently for myself. Maybe this is not applicable here because you read the dialog out loud. Still maybe worth trying? Thanks to the anime adaptation, we already have some perfect OSTs. Just made a quick search and this seems like a good Land of the Lustrous OST Mix, nothing too high energy, so it makes for a good background track. https://youtu.be/80dD0yMPcSA 27mins, just play it in a loop I think.
