This fight was a delight, what a fun team. That ending was also so freaking good, I am so hyped!

Sleepy-san

I am planning on watching most of the OVAs and movies (probably skipping the extras like the Tank Corner)

Well I guess I'm pretty late to say this because someone already commented about this. So yeah Nonna's VA (Uesaka Sumire) is Japanese who studied/majoring Russian language in university and she also voicing Alya from Alya Hiding Her Feeling in Russian. URRAAAA!!!!

MIF Reaction

das FINALE 04 was released at the beginning of 2024, actually (was in theaters late 2023). das FINALE 05 is estimated to be released in 2026 (in theaters late 2025, most likely)

I'm late to the party, but glad another reactor is doing Girls Und Panzer. It's such an incredible series/IP. Its one of those silly sounding premise shows that just created something incredible. It's staff are all heavy hitters in the industry, some of them this was one of their first shows, but all incredibly talented, and you can see it in how great the animation is, which only gets better as the budget increases. It also perfectly marries 2 opposite genres. Military Otaku and Moe Girls. It also has a bunch of barely veiled historical references for history buffs, and mixes insane anime logic physics with realistic designs of tanks. Nothing cuts corners. this IP is a masterpiece and the focus on character development, even for side characters with a cast that is frankly HUGE, is another of it's strengths alongside really goofy-yet-somehow-awesome action scenes. Also Yukari is BEST GIRL. She is the Tank Otaku in all of us XD. I hope this reaction series continues beyond just the series - as the movie "Girls Und Panzer: Der FIlm" directly follows on from the end of the series, and the "Girls Und Panzer: Das Finale" movies directly follow on after that, which means this series is technically still ongoing as they release a new Das Final movie part every 2 years and are at 3 out of a planned 6.

It's only fitting that a darkest hour for Oarai's Senshado team comes against the Soviet Russian Pravda Girls High School team! Now... how can they get out of this predicament? - 3:43: I have definitely heard that about the tea and jam not going directly into the tea before. *Alya and Masha moment* And it's ironic that - like Enrique said before me - Alya's VA, Sumire Uesaka is voicing Nonna (her name was mentioned after all), the vice-commander of the Pravda Girls High School Senshado team... who is literally present in this very scene. I suppose someone who studied Russian and loves the Soviet Culture so much... only fits to be voicing one of these characters! To be fair... when knowing that it's her... her Russian voice does sound pretty similar to Alya's Russian. - This episode is the first of two outsourced episodes of the TV series... being outsourced to Studio Guts (スタジオガッツ)... a studio I do recognize for being the outsource partner of currently airing OLM anime both for two episodes of The Apothecary Diaries Season 1 (as well as Beyblade X). - Yasue Ono (大野泰江) being of its key animators also is someone I recognize due to her very active involvement in the Pokémon anime's production as one of its best normal non-action animators who has also sometimes appeared as animation director over there too. VAs (aside from already mentioned Sumire Uesaka): - Hisako Kanemoto (金元寿子) voices the commander of the Pravda Senshado team, Katyusha. She has also voiced Kaede in Onimai for instance. And now for the entirety of the Mallard Team: - Sodoko (Midoriko Sono) **as well as the other two on the team** are voiced by Shiori Izawa (井澤詩織).

Firing directly at humans are prohibited in sensha-do and will lead to disqualification.

Funny thing is, back during the Saunders match, the girls in Saunder's flag tank actually mention Oarai being closed soon during the rant while they where being chased.

You're correct, the song that's missing in the US version is the song that the Pravda girls were singing in Russian. In the US version, I believe that scene is either them just riding in silence, or another song is playing but none of them are singing. Fun Fact: As another commenter said, the song is infact called "Katyusha", which is a soviet-era Russian folk song about a girl waiting for her lover to come back from war. Also, the truck that Katyusha (the commander of the team) rides up in when the teams first meet right before the match starts is also nicknamed Katyusha (named after the song). So we have Katyusha who rides a Katyusha, and Katyusha also singing Katyusha.

The full version of the Katyusha song is a banger too! Definitely worth listening to in your own time

While wars of attrition are never the best option sometime are the only option

The song Pravda (which was the name of the official newspaper of the USSR's Central Commettee) is called Katyusha (like their commander's moniker) and is, like every music represintg each school, an actual song adopted by the Red army (though unofficially as far as I know) // BTW Nonna's VA is the same as Alya in Roshidere

Oh also the history club(the ones making the Stalingrad reference) practically speak in history references

TheMightyAnt

Love they didn't make the school closing reveal until now. But now all the student councils actions make sense (forcing miho to do senshodo). Fun fact the truck that kyutusha rode in is called kyutusha. It's rocket arty. When they play these songs during the matches they are actually marching songs for that country. (Pravada's song is called kyutusha by the red army choir and is one of my favs)

TheMightyAnt

Only the finnish people are more OP in winter, as history has shown.
