I remember Carole & Tuesday being on the poll last time, that would be a fun one. But there are also a lot of great recommendations mentioned in other comments, you can really tell it's the Symphogear audience from a lot of them. A lot of them seem like fitting replacements though some of them can't be really called music anime if you are looking for that specifically. I agree about Noble Red seeming less redeemable than Bavarian Illuminati, even though they both took extremely misguided methods for achieving their goals and both killed tens of thousands of people. Something about the portrayal is just different. I can't find a good way to word it but with Noble Red it seems like a more sudden switch from "we don't care what methods we use and how many people we hurt" to "we just want to be accepted". Though I guess it's ironic that in order to get the power that would help them stop being perceived as monsters based on what they look like, they became monsters in their actions.

Would recommend the most recent series Macross Delta if you go the later route, closest anime that's come to filling that symphogear itch for me.

Our special Nana Mizuki song, usually used at the end of the season, and first used as a special ED for episode 1 of this season FINAL COMMANDER -Aufwachen Form- - https://youtu.be/z1GDiApo5_I As for Noble Red, even if they're under the command of Fudo, and he was behind the concert slaughter. I specifically can't forgive Millaarc and her murder of the little girl in front of Tsubasa, it was too graphic and brutal. Nanoha is amazing, and was my favorite show before Symphogear, in a very real way it's kind of the predecessor of Symphogear. Symphogear takes a huge amount of elements from Nanoha, mecha design and magical girls coliding, even Nana Mizuki voicing one of the main characters in each and singing all the OPs for both series, but Symphogear adds the music theme to it. Nanoha is not a musical show, it's called Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, but there's no real music here, excepting Nana Mizuki songs being used for climactic moments, which both shows also do. Fun side note, Nanoha and Fate/Stay Night have the same type of origin, based of an eroge visual novel. Nanoha was a spin-off from the VN Triangle Heart because she was the little sister character of the MC and was super popular. Fate/Stay Night and Nanoha also have 2 different short cameo manga, one where Nanoha helps Prisma Illya with a thing, and a different one where Rin summons the 2 main Nanoha characters instead of Archer, only like a chapter each, but very cute. Revolutionary Girl Utena could be a consideration, if you have not seen it yet, there is a large amount of music in that show and it is amazing.
