The Hero's SACRIFICE! | Fate/Apocrypha Episode 4 REACTION
Added 2025-01-03 17:48:41 +0000 UTCWhat an absolute chad Siegfried is! It seems like all the servants are finally revealed and Achilles seems pretty damn strong!

Yeah, having Chrion and Achilles on opposite sides is cool, as Chiron the centaur was Achilles' mentor and father-figure in the myths. I do think Unlimited Blade Works missed out by not mentioning the mythological connections between Medea (caster) and Hercules (berserker) -- they were friends.

2025-09-03 02:29:17 +0000 UTCYeah, the Rider class seems a little tenuous as to the exact "rider" powers or associations they have, compared to all the other classes. Achilles fits (though his chariot was most famous for an ignoble act; weapon wise, he's a famous spearman and swordsman, so is more logically lancer or saber). Iskander/ Alexander fits perfectly, he was a famous horseman and cavalry commander (even his horse Bucephalus was legendary) but is oddly portrayed as a charioteer when he never used one in battle, I guess just to make him look cool. Well, I suppose it's less extreme than gender swapping, which is common, but given how important his horse was to his legend, it seems a shame. Making Medusa a Rider class was weird though in the last movie, giving her a Noble Phantasm based around her association with Pegasus -- mythologically a winged horse born from her blood as she lay dying - was an original way to connect her with riding. Artoria could as logically be summoned as Rider instead of Saber: Arthur was famously associated with knightood and leading a cavalry force, and in Fate/Zero we see a natural affinity for riding things. I haven't seen all the Fate spinoffs: are there any Rider-class Servants who get vehicles (cars, cycles, airplanes, sailing ships, etc.) associated with their legends? Some Wild West riders?

2025-01-03 22:13:54 +0000 UTCFate/Extra is a single player RPG originally for PSP, F/GO's combat system was influenced by it. There is a remake coming out this year for current day systems, Fate/Extra Record. Here's the most recent trailer if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDg4wZsaC-E

2025-01-03 21:10:34 +0000 UTCThe rider class can summon a vehicle or mount they can ride. Achilles and Alexander from Fate/Zero both summon chariots, while Medusa summons Pegasus (as seen when she defeats Saber at the end of Heaven's Feel). I don't think many realize Pegasus was supposedly born from Medusa when she was killed by Perseus in the original Greek mythology.
