well it definitely is very cringe inducing but it it can't be helped as Kirito is pretty much the most iconic dual wielder and it doesn't help that Emiya and Kirito has ton of overlap in their characteristics. And I personally love the joke of Archer being heroic spirit Kirito :P

The line about being used too seeing corpses is a reference to the last grail war after all he seen the burned corpses of all the people that were killed by the grail while he was a little kid.
