Maybe what Symphogear is trying to be just isn't as convincing as what Madoka Magica turned out to be. I wanna really give this anime a chance, and I am enjoying it, with more than a few caveats in my mind. I just wish it took ahold of me like the truly emotional and powerful series. This is probably the best example of how I only really like the shows that cross lines that can never be walked back. I hope Symphogear takes me somewhere surprising and artistically upsetting.
