2024-05-31 21:16:38 +0000 UTCI am pretty conflicted. And invested. Touka is shown to have the weight of expectations on her shoulder. Everyone wants her to be like her sister. And she herself also loved her sister so much, she embraces the idea, but that is also a lack of self love. I didn't get the feeling Touka would be happy with how she is doing. She said she would rather die, than hear someone saying they apreciate who she is. That especially gave me the impression she dies not do this for herself. Sayaka... She doesn't see her in full, I think. And she supports her way, that I think is going to hurt a lot.... I am totally on Yuus side here, I think Touka needs to hear that SHE can be liked how she is. To me Yuu made the impression that she really cares about how Touka feels. She saw her nervous breakdown, she thinks it is exhausting to put on a mask all the time..

2024-05-25 04:55:14 +0000 UTCI can understand how you came to your conclusion. Personally, I don't like Sayaka. She is always condescending to the first years, especially to Yuu. There is a lot of jealousy at play, fuelled again by Touko calling Yuu by her first name in this episode. There is a reason why Touko fell in love with Yuu and not Sayaka, as she can be herself and show her weakness to her, which she could never do with Sayaka. Anyway, from now on I have to be careful with my comments, as I received all the manga volumes today and will start reading them.

2024-05-24 20:32:11 +0000 UTCThe issue with Touko is where her feelings to improve herself stem from. She's even stated that everyone expects that of her. Toward the end you even mentioned one of the biggest problems with her. Touko CAN'T have a heart to heart with anyone due to the facade she wants to keep. You have to remember that Touko's facade isn't simply being smart or dependable, its being perfect. That means she's never allowed to be emotionally vulnerable with others(Yuu is an unexpected exception.) During their talk in episode 6 Yuu even mentions that improving herself is admirable, she's just worried about where these feeling stem from and what they could lead to. I think most would agree that emotionally repressing yourself like that is a bad thing, which is what Yuu wants Touko to come to terms with.
