Alright! It's been five days since I last said much...so past time I checked it! Admittedly, I'd intended to do so yesterday, but releasing the Wallpapers for the Royalty Tier slid a day, bumping the progress report in turn. Regardless, most of the news is good news, so let's get on with it!
The Escape Game:
Which I really need to come up with a name for. That just keeps slipping my mind as I work on more important bits. Regardless, things are going pretty well with it. I've already finished all the renders for the core Town path and I'm...I'd say maybe 50% done with the renders for the core Dungeon path? Possibly a bit more than that, actually. One way or another, I'm completely confident in how things are going on the render side of things. Barring a total disaster that wipes out all my backups or something, there shouldn't be any issue on the graphics side. As you likely already saw, I attached a couple of little teasers for events from the Dungeon path ;-).
The one bit of less ideal news is that I had planned to move straight into programming/writing once I wrapped up the renders for the Town path. That way I'd have a better estimate of how long that stage of things would take. Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way. I've ended up juggling too many other things, both for this month's rewards and just in general life/holiday stuff, to sink my teeth into that portion. I'm not actually all that worried about that just yet, given how much progress I've made elsewhere. But it is, technically, a set back to the general timetable. That timetable was designed from the get go to be pretty flexible, though, since I knew this month was going to be chaotic. It's the whole reason I'm doing this instead of a Left Hand Magic build, after all!
Silas Station:
This is going fairly well. Renders have come along slightly slower than I'd have liked. But, honestly, not by much. I've got twelve renders done, with a minimum target of sixteen. I actually expect it will probably end up being more like seventeen or eighteen. In other words, pretty typical size for a Silas Station episode. Part of me wanted to make it extra long since it's the end of the current arc...but it both isn't a great idea trying that this month and it just didn't really fit with the overall plan. Unlike with the first Arc of Silas Station, which was intended to be a fully self-contained story in case no one was interested in more, this Arc is ending in a way that makes it obvious the story is intended to continue. Whether it actually does continue or not is, of course, subject to voting from the Royalty Tier members ;-).
Short Stories:
This is...less good but still not horrible. I struggled a lot with trying to decide what to do for the Holiday story. And since I already committed in another post to putting that one out on the 24/25th, I've been trying to sort it first. Thankfully, I finally hit on an idea I like earlier today and managed to knock out the first thousand words or so. I'm going to focus hard on it tomorrow, hopefully getting another 2-3k words hammered out. I think it will be fairly easy to write now that I've gotten a start. But I've been wrong about that before. So...we'll see! Either way, I don't foresee an issue getting that story done and out on time. As always, it's going to be the second short of the month that could suffer a bit. But, at this point, that's not a real fear yet. No more than it always is, at least.
