December 2024 release notice

Hi!

I believe most of you are aware that Patreon applied a few billing changes to its platform last month, which affected the way I release the models I make here.

As a result, I'm now going to release all the models of my December release in the last day of this month. This is to make sure that the system works in a fair way for all of us.

When you look at it, releasing models in the last day of a month, or in the beginning of the month is just a matter of a couple of days, so it won't be a big difference. However, in this first month of the transition, I understand some may feel frustrated (I know I am), since the last release was on November 2, and the next one is going to come only on December 31, meaning almost two months without getting anything new.

In this case, if you're really looking for any of the models from my current release and you don't want to wait until the end of the month, you can message me and I'll send you the download links for them, in case you're up-to-date with the billing process.

I hope I can count on your understanding of my situation, and I'm here to tackle any doubts you might have in this regard.

Yes, it's just a different month. I'm honestly more concerned about my other stores, though, because I've been having good sales on Cults3D, and I wouldn't like to lose the momentum by not uploading any new models there this month. That's why I'll probably release one model per week from now on.

Exactly, I didn't choose this, and I'm trying my best to give people the best solution to their concerns. I know I won't be able to please everybody, but there's a limit to what can be done in this sort of situation.

I don't see a problem with switching dates. Yes we will have to wait for our perks but it's not like we are missing out on anything. And most artists i support release a the end of the month now anyway. Those that do an early in th3 month release are actually doing it for the previous month anyway.

Sometimes corporate decisions don't make sense to anyone but corporate. You have no control in this decision, so NOT your fault, NO blame to you. As for me, I am looking forward to getting these excellent figures. This delay will not interfere with my enthusiasm for your work.

Yes, that feels like a punishment for me too, believe me. If you haven't seen it yet, this post explain things a big better: https://www.patreon.com/posts/upcoming-patreon-115103116 But to sum up the problem, since Patreon now won't charge people in the first day of each month, charging according to each person's subscription date instead, if I keep releasing my models like before, a person who just signed up on November 20, for example, would receive November's models, and then on December 2, the same person would receive December's models, even though they only paid once. Then they can just cancel their subscription and that's it. That seems unfair to me. And since Patreon gives me no tools to help with the automation of the release process, I was faced with two options: 1 - Release each of my models as I finish them, instead of sending them as a bundle, 2 - Release a bundle like before, but in the end of the month, because this way everybody who paid in the month will get the correct month's release. I know this sucks for patrons and merchants in particular, and I also fear the effect this gap will have in my Cults3D and CGTrader stores, but really, what should I do, then? I'd love to know of a better solution, I'm honest about it.

As a long term patreon, I don't understand that change... I'm sorry, but for me that is a punishment for the current patreons.
