I've been making a few render tests with my Lady Mechanika model for the past days. I wanted to try a new setting with a lighter background. I like the black environment I use for my images, but I wanted to experiment with colors on the background as well, and for that I needed at least some gray.
I may not apply this same scheme for all my other models, but this is the result I got for Lady Mechanika so far. I think I'll keep it for this model and start working on her 3D printing preparations when I have the time :)

It's nice to have more time to work on a character's details without feeling overwhelmed all the time. And as for the background, I still don't know for sure if I really need to change my render style, but I feel like I needed to try new things, as it's been long since the last time I updated my studio settings.

2024-09-12 19:32:03 +0000 UTCSteam punk is one of the most detail rich subjects out there, and you have done your self proud with this design. As far as the background goes. The all black puts the eyes solely on the subject whereas the blended background adds depth and contrast. I noticed this as soon as I looked at Lady M. Both are very useful, I think it will mostly depend on the subject.
