Lady Mechanika wip07

Hi!

Sorry for the lack of activity during this week. Since I have all the models for the next release ready, I'm using this time to make preparations for my future time off in the end of the year.

And also, I'm painting my Lady Mechanika model, which is being slower than usual because I want to see how much of an improvement I can get with a better paint job in the final renders. You can see some wips here.

Also, I'd like to enjoy this opportunity to ask you guys something. Does it help you to have colored images of the models I make, or would a colorless set of images showing the models with a simple resin material suffice?

Thank you very much for the feedback :) I'll continue to paint my models as I've always done, but I was very curious to know more about people's thoughts in this matter.

Yes, in the case of fanart characters, most online references should suffice, however for the originals, I believe a painted model should serve as a basic guidance. But I see your point. I started offering a couple of colorless renders mimicking a resin texture for all my models because some merchants complained about clients with unrealistic expectations. It doesn't really take much extra time to add some basic colors to my models, but a more elaborate paint job such as this from Lady Mechanika is a lot more time consuming, so I wouldn't be able to repeat this process for all my models.

Torrida Minis

Haha, I see that. It's a way of speeding up people's work, since if there's no pre-defined color scheme, one must make tests until one finds the desired result. I see myself as making these tests for them.

Torrida Minis

Yes, I understand this point, especially when it comes to original models. It's like a suggestion for those who want a color scheme that is guaranteed to work well enough.

Thank you for the feedback :)

I believe so too. And I think it also makes it more exciting for people who don't really want the printed models, but rather just look at some pretty images of characters they like.

I'll agree on the color renders...for me, when its a model that I'm unfamiliar with, like this one, seeing a color palette helps me decide on how to finish my own model, should I print it. It does improve detail quality, but, the greyscale does a fine job as well.

I don't think the coloured renders matter that much. If people really need the colour scheme they can do a quick 5-20 second google search of the character. For me personally I've had customers use the coloured renders against me saying "the model kit isn't accurate to the images.... apparently some people don't realise what a 3d render image is or even understand what unpainted and unassembled means or what a model kit is." anyhow, id put a good bet on most people being here for the STLs themselves so please don't worry about the renders, if needs be you can always just finish them up when you have free time during work.

I think the colored ones help those of us who are not artists more easily come up with an idea of how to paint a model other than sitting there staring for hrs on end :p

I very much prefer colored renders. I don't have the imagination for colors and rely on references to paint. I know it's more work for you and I want you to know that I very much appreciate your hard work. Thank you for all you do.

So I did that they are essential but I feel like they are more between that and doesn't make a difference. They are great in helping pick out detail and really having a sense of depth and character. So much like the flag of Sweden, it is a big plus.

They are Eye-catching - higher chance of someone finding it and consider buying
