Haven's Port & Short Story Progress Reports

*Thunks head repeatedly on keyboard*

...WHHHHYYYY DID I DO IT? I ought to have known better! I went and tempted fate T-T...

Sigh. Melodrama aside, I apparently should have known better than to say I thought I had a handle on the number of problems to expect in a build. Right after I said that on the 13th, I had a whole series of bullshit problems crop up. First I had what I swear was some sort of cursed render. It was a long one, taking about 8 hours per attempt, and the bloody $&^@$ thing crashed mid-render (after 5+ hours), THREE TIMES. Then there was another scene that caused two blue-screens-of-death for my laptop. Then, just to top it off, somehow the camera got set to 1080p instead of 2k for a couple of renders. Those renders, I'm afraid, are probably going to remain, as I'm now simply too far behind to prioritize re-rendering them to properly match all the other renders in the game. Though they will go on the list of renders to replace at some point (which currently includes 2 renders that have major graphical oopses).

The good news is that, despite all of this, I have about 5.6 scenes finished, with another render to go before I crash that will bring that up to 5.8 (assuming it doesn't crash -_-). Unfortunately, I've been so busy trying to swat the various issues that cropped up, that I haven't gotten much else done. I'm hoping to still put out the release around the 20th, which is later than I wanted (I originally was aiming for the 18th, even if I didn't say so), but still acceptable. So...fingers crossed...

As for the short story...it really should have been done by now. And, to be fair, about 3,000 words of it have been completed. I hit a bit of a hiccup that caused me to put it down for a day or two, revolving around me realizing that I had no idea how to handle the sex scene. I know what I want to do...it's just that I hit a wall when I realized that I've never actually written anything like it. Which was seriously odd to think about, after the amount of smut I've written (heck, DoL alone had 2-3 novels worth of writing in it). I've spent a couple of days casting about for inspiration, trying to wrap my head around how exactly to write what I want. I honestly didn't see the issue coming at all, so writing was at a standstill while I worked on the problem in my head. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish it later today, given it an editing pass tomorrow, then public it. I really hope so, at least, as I really need to shift gears and get started on the programming for the Haven's Port release....
