November Map Poll

October is over so things have slowed down at last! It was a very very busy month for me! Some quick updates we're going to see this month, I'll be starting a map directory which will be added at the bottom of the news sections here in the monthly poll.

Secondly, I've decided to try out adding other genres to my map catalog. While the vast vast majority will remain high fantasy/steampunk as my work as been thus-far I ran a poll on twitter to see what of my following would be interested in other kinds of under-served games battlemap-wise and by far sci-fi and Cyberpunk took the lead. So I'm gonna drop a map or two in those styles as well as include them in the poll (You'll see some today in fact) and test the water. Happy to hear your feedback, Feel free to leave a comment on this thread and let me know if that's something you'd enjoy seeing more of

For today's Update, I thought it was high time everyone got a chance to meet the In-setting writer of the guide to World's Beyond Our Own. So allow me to introduce the heroic adventurer you've all seen on my icons, Commenting on my maps, and Representing Balatro all around. Ida Holly!

Meet Ida Holly

Ida Holly, An artist and adventuring cartographer from the 500 Mile mega-city of Grand Nostridan in south-eastern Crudilex. She plies her trade traveling the world and documenting the strange and unique. Follows the footsteps of brave heroes to recount their adventures and takes copious notes of the amazing lands and marvels discovered along the way.

Many call Ida an aloof eccentric, or a doddering clutz prone to knocking fragile artifacts off displays and spilling books and papers all about. She delights in uncovering mysterious things both great and small, travels the Elseworlds over seeking any location or experience that only the brave few might ever encounter, and documents them in her maps, novels, and paintings.

While not your average hero, Ida has within her a moral streak And often finds herself tasked with telling a tale while compelled to take part in it herself. Leaping into the quest to stop evil along the way Often to her own detriment. Anywhere there are secrets to uncover or stories to tell it is only a matter of time before the circular spectacled meddler is found poking around!

Fun facts about Ida,
Ida once was trapped in a dark tomb for almost a whole year, she survived by identifying and cultivating a root system that provided her with the bare minimum food and water to get by.

She still returned to map tomb after.

She has two scars across her cheek, these were from an attempted vampire bite!

When Ida’s father passed away she took his boots. She still wears them to this day, though they’ve been repaired so much that not a single piece of the original boots remains

Ida wrote this very book you are reading right now, and she feels very strange about writing about herself in the third person especially when being asked to aggrandize her accomplishments. She hopes that you will take it on her word she is a qualified enough historian and adventurer to tell the tale of your adventures in Dunwel Fen and Drakul’s Game.

Lastly a bit of disappointing news.
Ida's Guide to Worlds Beyond our own is delayed. Our original goal of having it in the hands of Kickstarter supporters by January 2023 was perhaps a bit ambitious. While Ida herself is a prolific writer in the fantasy world of Crudilex, I myself her humble real-earth-world author underestimated the time it would take to sort out the logistics of a 250-page sourcebook. It is critically important to me that the artists who are working hard and providing their absolutely amazing visions are giving the proper amount of time needed to bring the setting to life without being rushed. That an editor is allowed all the time needed to correct the dyslexia-onset spelling (No small task) and the right print house can create a product I will be proud to have now and forever with my name on it. This book is a piece of my soul and I want it to be the best it can be now and forever, with absolutely no cut corners.
The updated expectation is the end of the summer of 2023,
I know everyone is very eager to have it and I can't wait to give it to you so I thank you very much for your continued patience.

You're completely right. And I have it in the works but I couldnt find a way to make it work to my standard before the end of the month. It's hot in the forge though and on it's way.

Balatro

Kind of disappointed that despite dungeon entrance puzzle having been the leading winner for all of November it never got made, sad day.
