You may have also noticed my branding has changed! I've decided to put Balatro's Mascot, Ida, more into the forefront! You have heard her quips at the top of all my map descriptions, and seen some bits of her here and there but now she's running the show! In the world the book exists in Ida is it's author and is telling the story of the events of Drakul's Game!

So lets meet Ida!

Meet Ida Holly, explorer, cartographer, and mascot of Balatro. Ida is an aloof eccentric who delights in uncovering mysterious things both great and small. She travels the world over seeking any location or experience that only the brave few might ever encounter and documents them in her maps, novels, and paintings.

Having traveled the world over Ida brings these adventures and encounters back to Balatro who curates them for your hands. Her escapades were reimagined through the phased battle maps provided. She returns weekly from her expeditions and provides notes and details which are scribed into history for our loyal patrons. Ida's Notes can be seen at the tops of all Balatro's maps giving little insight to the feeling the encounter left her with.
This is all totally true and real...

Fun facts about Ida,

• Ida once was trapped in a dark tomb for almost a whole year, she survived by identifying and cultivating a root system that provided her with the bare minimum food and water to get by. She still returned to map tomb after.
• She has two scars across her cheek, these were from an attempted vampire bite!
• When Ida’s father passed away she took his boots. She still wears them to this day, though they’ve been repaired so much that not a single piece of the original boots remains.

The Book also features LOADS of amazing art from artists such as Elviroel, Madd_Ace, and Ampreh. All of whom are lending their considerable talent to bringing the world of Crudilex alive!
