Stefan's speech about judging Damon for "doing the right thing for the wrong reason" is just pure projection! When Damon does good and selfless things noone ever k own about it (unless they are there) because he never makes a show about it, while Stefen always seems to ensure that everyone either witnesses his "hero" moments or he ensures that everyone hears about it! Also, hella hypocritical of him to tell Damon that Elena's relationship is none of Damon's business when in the 1st episodes before he and Elena were even dating, he butted in unasked to interfere in her relationship with her brother. I have my massive (Damon related) issues with Caroline, but you have legit been unjustly shitting on her the entire time for no real reason!

Maybe he thought damon was gonna die anyway so he didn’t feel the need to take him out straight away🤷🏾‍♂️ he did tell stefen “go ahead the fire will take you out” when stefen wanted to go in after Damon and that says that John wanted the fire to do the job he didn’t expect Bonnie do help😅 also Anna died because she reached out for John leg when he was leaving and he noticed her. I doubt he would do anything if she didn’t grab his attention like that🤷🏾‍♂️ maybe stefen could have taken her with him if she just laid on the ground instead of doing anything just saying.
