i dont think its about naming all the countries, but americans should be able to name the country in europe that they went to. saying "i went to europe" is stupid, because europe consists of 44 countries, so which one of those 44 countries did you go to? because theres a massive difference between going to london and going to spain. also expecting someone to know 50 states plus 16 us territories is almost impossible.

Your thing about us Americans calling it Europe is the same the other way around. The amount of Europeans I have heard planning to go from New York to California in one go is insane. The United States is not much smaller than the entirety of Europe and each state is diverse as hell and takes forever to get anywhere. Realistically, I can see Americans driving to multiple different countries in Europe with no problem based on how it takes forever to get anywhere in the U.S. I literally drive two hours easy to just go grocery shopping.
