The Void resisted Ruwen’s tele
Comments
Now that he has a little time, I'm sure Ruin will go visit Ash in the dungeon somehow, so he can get the basics on the Chakra forms. Then do like what he did with Rami and perfect them in his mind space. I wonder if unlocking that will allow him to go to the creation realm because he's unlocked all the mind portions. The blood magic can wait. As cool as it is, giving Ruin a ranged option that is based on hand gestures he can bruteforce with his cleverness is just too OP.

2025-01-20 08:43:11 +0000 UTCGreat book, still feel like rowen should eat the zealots soul to stop the rez, but youve done really well with the story. Not sure how to go back to librarian conference now to resolve an alchemy competition, when ruwens dealing with outerverse politics though lol

2025-01-17 06:41:23 +0000 UTCI am hoping this is akin to what Seth Ring did with his Titan series. 10 books in a pocket world, then 10 more in the "real" universe. There is so much potential. We have been warned that Zealots don't perma-death. And the escapees will inevitably make waves when they reappear in the expanded universe... Thus transition had to explain so much, it's amazing you made it interesting and readable. Looking forward to exploring the divine domain, and seeing what chakras do for Ruin/Ruwen. Not to mention what's happening on good ol' earth, in the other series. 🙂

2025-01-17 00:17:28 +0000 UTCGreat job. I can't say it better than what everyone has said. And, no! This is not the one that breaks your great streak of excellent books. Thank you so much for all the time and dedication you've put into this. There are little typos, and things like placing the fighters in "air" when they are supposed to be in the void - little inconsequential things that when you do a second pass will vanish. I agree with everyone - It's another great book.

2025-01-16 18:01:03 +0000 UTCYeah that's a good point, I suppose I'm just eager to see where that goes

2025-01-16 17:57:03 +0000 UTCLol. I don't think his mind ever stops humming. Reminds me of Ruwen! 😂

2025-01-16 17:55:49 +0000 UTCOverload developed the sword forms, but he is yet to teach them to Ruin. I think him using them before that would be putting the cart before the horse.

2025-01-16 17:54:39 +0000 UTCWell said. You did great. Ditto everything Lena has said. I can't say it better.

2025-01-16 17:53:04 +0000 UTCIt makes me wonder if that scene is the beginning of a bigger idea that we're yet to see the whole of. If it is, then it may not make sense yet, but will make sense later - which would be a surprise I won't want to miss.

2025-01-16 17:48:17 +0000 UTCThe unique take on a magic system, is probably my favorite thing about this series, Seemingly disparate magic systems, all simply pieces of a larger puzzle. A broken heritage, scattered and forgotten. Not only do we get to see the MCs journey, but also his discovery of these remnants of the past and how tightly coupled they all actually are when recombined. Independent yet parts of a larger whole, another hidden truth in this epic tale. How everything in this world is both literally and philosophically interconnected in a way that you can make sense of in a single conversation is just mind boggling to me, Maybe I just haven’t read enough other Xianxia / litrpg type stuff, but while I do see some similar aspects this all seems like a new take on how magic works and it is all beautifully woven together. Well conceptualized, and well executed in my humble opinion. I’m blown away every damn book since around 5 or 6, and they were still plenty good enough before that to get me that far. Great job as usual AFK. This is nothing short of amazing to me, really. Take a bow. (There are some missing punctuation, typos, etc, and some odd wording. I’ll try to make a new post with what I saw later)

2025-01-15 23:29:04 +0000 UTCDefinitely enjoyed this book! The epilogue was fantastic. I am looking forward to reading the book straight through as there is a lot going on (in a good way). I am a little confused on the various magic systems (blood, chakra, spirit, etc), but I think some of that would be cleared up through a complete read through without weeklong breaks between chapters. Overall, this is a great addition to the series and I can’t wait to see where the next book takes me.

2025-01-15 23:04:17 +0000 UTCThe FAQ on AFK’s website says: “18) How many books are there going to be in the series? This arc will be finished in around 13 books. I will then start a new series for the next arc.” There was an original plan to combine the destruction realm and the conclave into book 11, and that plan changed to just the destruction realm. Asuming the FAQ didn’t originally say 12 and got updated when book 11 plans changed, this could mean there is yet another book planned now as well. My understanding was that dealing with all of the outer-verse stuff will be the next series / arc, as a future story. It isn’t clear if Divine Awakening will evolve into that or will remain in this universe. I haven’t read them, but the FAQ also mentions other stories from this universe, like Cevin's Sword and The Grey Warden to keep us engaged with the fantasy world AFK has built for us.

2025-01-15 19:45:10 +0000 UTCWon’t be 2 more, 12 meridians, 12 books
Alexander Ball
2025-01-15 15:56:04 +0000 UTCI feel like/hope we still have at least 2 more, cause we've still got the rest of the stuff with the Nine Muses, the body and mind towers, the creation realm, the fourth secret and all the outerverse stuff that he will have to deal with no matter how much he doesn't want to.

2025-01-15 15:17:47 +0000 UTCYeah I think so too. It would be better if the pov of prologue was from someone else. Like the Death tower avatar. I like him.

2025-01-15 12:56:45 +0000 UTCGreat ending! So exited for the last book. If you looking for inspiration look at the Cradle Series by Will Wight. He finished in 12 also

2025-01-15 02:05:12 +0000 UTCThe prologue with naktos did seem a bit odd, especially In the scene with Miranda dissolving the pact he was presented as being very clueless.

2025-01-15 00:03:08 +0000 UTCA great and fun read. A couple of thought for edits: 1. Slight quantification/qualification for how soul power scales against spirit. is spirit shield less effective against soul power because it works more on matter? 2. Context for if harmony is back to normal in spirit forged body and how addition of void affected it. 3. Plot hole of why he can’t get in touch with Rami. Even mentioned varthon could crush anything in void just have to find it. Communication issue should be made more clear at first meeting with varthon and then mentioned again later. 4. Tad more humanising for the zealot. The book comments were great but can be made clear he holds no personal ill will. 5. Crossing rings Are soul powered right? How can that harm a soul zealot? Lal doesn’t have a soul beyond lvl 2 at most and if the priest has lvl 6?7? If it’s quantity not quality that’s fine, just explain. 6. How does soul interact with meridians? 7. Death of a zealot still bringing rest of the church to them right? If ruwen could use the blood oath at any time makes the hostage situation less dire. 8. Ruwen’s smack talk is great. Love the smack talk. 9. Could change the shape of some of the higher colour angels into Old Testament types,. no arms or legs but 8 wings, etc. makes for good geometric centres. 10. Make slightly more clear the effect of the refurbished core and meridians. this was slightly quantified in book 6, and now with improved efficiency flow rate width and density etc there should be multiple orders of magnitude improvement now. And if Lal’s plan with the massive spirit river was working somewhat, then all the spirit condensed and guided should have been even more effective. Maybe a line about how the spirit is perfectly responsive now and Uruziel doesn’t have enough control over it anymore to do stuff? E.g.. ruwen back in 6 with no fine control.

2025-01-14 23:59:46 +0000 UTCThe ending was so beautiful and sad. It was so good. May i ask what happened to Naktos please? He was there watching Lanquenrial kill Ruwen in destruction realm. It would feel nice to just mention what happens to him somewhere.

2025-01-14 21:24:51 +0000 UTCI must say that was a very emotional read. My heart hurt for Echo. When she whispered "why did he leave me", the waterworks started. Then when her dad walked in.... Ah what a relief. Then he dies. My heart sank. Then the epilog. Wow what an ending. I felt like I was watching the ending of a moving in fast forward. Now, I have to go back and re-read this SLOWLY. You did Great! Nothing big to fix except a few words missing or misspelled like stuff for staff. Small things like that. Will be here supporting you for book 12.🤩🙂🫡

2025-01-14 20:43:39 +0000 UTCReally enjoyed this ending and think you stuck the landing well. One minor wish is for Ruwen to use his sword(s) some in the combat here. He defaults back to his (admittedly awesome) barehand fighting methods but it feels like it makes his weapon training earlier in the book insignificant

2025-01-14 13:18:01 +0000 UTCI just have to say the amount of information contained in this last batch of chapters is enormous. And I am very appreciative of the ending in this book.
