During Ruwen’s Fortification to Angel in Blapy’s Divine Realm Sift had finished his transition into Jade first. He’d unfortunately witnessed Ruwen’s headless body as it finished reforming. This had evidently sparked a series of stories from Io about heads that used their ears to walk around. Ruwen wondered how many newly Fortified gods rose from their transition to be greeted with such a discussion.

The issue is that Ruwen and Hamma's reactions are more like they know what he is talking about than he is introducing something new and bizarre. So I spent 30 minutes rereading to look for antecedents. Maybe it was referenced before and I just missed it? Either way, it broke me out of the narrative.
