Good point that should be brought up

2024-06-01 21:23:41 +0000 UTCChapters 15, 16, and 17 seen a little off to me and I am trying to figure out why. Here's what I have so far: Ruwen has discovered the outerverse and it contains multiple versions of 'magic' that he apparently has no natural affinity for. But he is, for valid reasons, driven to learn and master them. He has friends in his circle who have some natural affinity for, or in some cases, experience with, each of these new types of power manipulation. So what's my problem with these chapters? I think I am feeling the 'cost of context switching' as described by Gerald Weinberg (worth a quick web search). TBH, my physiological reaction is my eyes have trouble focusing on the page and I start to feel sleepy. This is probably a temporary problem, as soon as the abstraction levels drop and we move into a more linear progression I feel things will return to normal.
