The State of Furry Games, July 2025
Added 2025-07-28 14:42:28 +0000 UTCHey hey folks! Just a quick update since a lot happened this week.
Sorry I've been so quiet here.
I've been putting a lot of time and energy into a pretty ambitious new game, with a demo coming soon. In all honesty, I prefer to focus on what I'm making instead of doing constant promotion. I've stopped myself from spreading much info about it, though if you're interested in following some of its development, I've been posting progress in the Game Dev channel of my Discord Server. You can also view all my art there, and if you're connected to Patreon, you can even see early access stuff!
This week has been a little rough.
You may already know about this, but payment processors have been asserting their power over digital game distributors with a lot of success. They have effectively made Itchio SFW only, and Steam may follow close behind. This is worrying from a perspective of censorship, access to adult media, and could easily extend into much more sweeping bans. As of now, I can't even take donations on the free games I posted on itchio, all of them have been de-indexed. If you are concerned about this as well, consider taking some action.
As bad as things are, I'm not quitting.
I've got a few degrees in STEM and I could probably find a different job if needed, but I really enjoy working as a freelance artist. I want to continue improving at my craft, and making more games. I'll be doing that for a while longer, as long as I can keep the lights on and food on the table.
Thank you all for your patience, for your generosity, and for your kindness. In these times of uncertainty, knowing that there are communities of people that take care of each other and bond over shared interests gives me hope.

From what I understand the group is Australian but the card companies have a duty to it if they distribute their services in the US

So what they're doing is basically illegal and they're committing forced censorship.
