December 30, 2023 - Update

We were at a relative’s house this week and I didn’t get nearly as much editing done as I wanted. I need to give book 9 over to the editor at the start of the new year, so that basically gives me this weekend to finish the revisions.
In fact, I just got home from traveling all day. As you can imagine, air travel with a 3 year old and a 10 month old is hard. And the little one got pretty sick before we left. It’s been a long day so I’m not even going to reread the chapters for tonight.
Which is probably a mistake as they contain some important revelations and start us on the downward slope toward the end.
I did decide what point of view the epilogue is from which I hope everyone will enjoy.
I opened up chapters 62, 63, 64, and 65 to Root.
I opened up chapters 66, 67, and 68 to Harvester.
I added chapters 69, 70, and 71 to Step Master, Blapy’s Favorite, Divine, and Axiom.

I vote to keep going. This story is great and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. Why end early for no good reason? New characters etc means getting to know new people and developing care for them from scratch, etc. I’d rather see what heights Ruwen and company can reach, and what wonders the multiverses hold. That’s my vote.

2023-12-30 22:20:59 +0000 UTCSorry, yes book 9 end. If anything, this book ripped the cover off the bigger picture and the story is just starting from that viewpoint. I'm still thinking about how to address this...should I just keep going with this series...or wrap it up and explore the other items in another series with many of the same characters. Maybe I should make a poll on that.
