September 2, 2023 - Update

This week required a lot of detailed work on stats which slowed me down considerably. The difficulties I’ve had finding my groove with this book have led me to take drastic action. Namely, I’ve begun getting up before everyone else wakes to get some writing in.
My entire life I’ve hated mornings. I still have trouble going to bed before midnight, regardless of how tired I am. Kids of course changed that to some degree, but this week I took it to another level by going to bed earlier and getting up around 5 AM.
While I felt like death warmed over, the writing was successful, and I’ll continue experimenting with this next week. I hope this is what I need to regain my momentum and allow me to start the Royal Road story.
In other news, I created a couple of Collections on Patreon. It should make it easier and cleaner to find book 9 chapters for instance. I also sent back the first draft of the cover and had hoped to have the new one back to show you, but it will need to wait.
I opened up chapters 13, 14, and 15 to Root.
I opened up chapters 16, 17, and 18 to Harvester.
I added chapters 19, 20, and 21 to Step Master, Blapy’s Favorite, Divine, and Axiom.

haha...i have so many spreadsheets with automated calcs. but then what happens when he has armor, or jewelery, or Hamma buffs him, or he uses only a portion of his self buffs, or lately what has killed me...the skill modifiers. Ugh!

2023-09-23 05:25:34 +0000 UTCI don't know, but I always imagined/assumed that LitRPG writers have immense excel spreadsheets/macros to build/determine their character stats. But maybe this is just the engineer geek in me making assumptions. Because detailed stat work sound super fun to me. #WhyIAmAnEngineerAndNotAWriter
