July 22, 2023 - Update
Added 2023-07-22 09:16:19 +0000 UTCHi!
It’s three in the morning, so I’m going to keep this short. I posted the prologue and three first chapters again as I made some significant revisions. This is exactly the type of thing I wanted to avoid but launching book 8 a week earlier really put me in a bad spot.
The release of book 8 is going well and I appreciate all of you who did what you could to review or get the word out.
The new chapters I’m releasing tonight contain world building I didn’t intend to put into this series. Not much of it anyway. I’m conflicted because I’m concerned about the effect increasing the scope of the story will have on fans, but I also love this bigger picture.
I will probably put up a poll tomorrow to gauge your feedback.
Also, because chapter six took such an immense amount of effort, I didn’t get a chance to go over chapters 4, 5, or 6 again. This means there are likely a lot of errors and awkward sentences as you are getting raw chapters.
I opened up chapter 2 for Root.
I opened up chapter 3 for Harvester.
I added chapters 4, 5, and 6 for Step Master, Blapy’s Favorite, Divine, and Axiom.
Enjoy!
Thank you for supporting this series. You are the best.
Take care,
AFK

Respectfully disagree, Parsneau is my second favorite narrator behind the great Jeff Hayes. Her voice is excellent and she's able to give characters a lot of personality with really unique voices. I don't think adding emotion or gravity to situations is a bad thing. If you prefer emotionless rendition you could always use a text to speech bot.

2023-07-30 07:36:12 +0000 UTCOh, I saw that Hamma's last prayer got an audiobook... but it was narrated by Andrea Parseneau, so I'll never buy it :( Not a fan of her narration style. She tries to add her own emotion and gravity to too many situations, where she slows down and draws out the narration trying to put emotion in the voice at places it's unwelcome. It's for the reader to decide their own emotion based on what was written. I threw my phone across the room the 10th time she did it in some book I was listening to, and deleted the book.

2023-07-29 22:06:46 +0000 UTCOh you bastard, lol. I quite literally have the most recent Cradle book sitting in my audible library (which came out last month), but I haven't listened to it yet. I assumed something like this was going to happen though since they were leaving the planet. I was hoping he'd just sort of make another series afterwards with what happens in space.

2023-07-29 21:44:30 +0000 UTC@Pannath - I really love that line of thought. This is the best series ongoing right now. My nightmare is that it will end prematurely like Cradle did. There is still A LOT of story to be told here. There was with Cradle too, but no need crying over spilled milk.

2023-07-29 20:44:02 +0000 UTCI agree with many of the others, expanding the world is good. I like the idea of getting out of the Universe after becoming a 'God' and then they're like "Welcome to the starting line." This does give you a few options. You can End the series after Ruwen resolves stuff with Grave. Then immediately start a new series with Ruwen and friends right where they left off, with a new direction of exploring the multiverse. Or you could just keep the current series going, and pivot in this direction.

2023-07-24 10:06:47 +0000 UTCi feels very appropriate that the world “expands” as ruwens scope and understanding does and i’m SUPER interested in what’s going on.

2023-07-23 06:15:50 +0000 UTCI’d prefer a prolonged series where the world is expanded and well thought out, but if it ends up being rushed due to you feeling you gotta get something out then I feel it would be better to retcon the chapter and just finish the series on a high note without the loose ends. Also what is the goal of the characters at this point? If you develop the world maybe give the characters a reason to go out of grave in order to get more powerful since we know the goal is to keep grave safe from the gods after he inevitably kills the ones that are after him what will his next goal be that would give him a reason to become the harbinger or what ever other titles he would get from the quests he has. The stakes are high now since he is going to war with the gods but what will the stakes be afterwards? Since grave isn’t apart of the “system” will it be given a chance to be apart of it again, or will our characters go up against the system and darkness to destroy it all

2023-07-22 21:28:07 +0000 UTCI, too, like the world building. Several of my recent questions have centered on the mechanics of certain decisions, outcomes, etc., and the world building helps address those. I'm also fond of speculating about where the story might go, and the additional information opens up a lot of opportunity on that front.

2023-07-22 17:45:13 +0000 UTCI can’t speak for all fans. What I know, for a fact is that this world building has given the story a new lease on greatness. It feels like we are just now embarking on a great adventure. Like all the greatness that came before is only a minor taste of what is to come. It gives grist to my imagination and allows me to spend a lot of time exploring different possibilities. It is, in a word, wonderful!
