I think the Fractal story arc is especially fascinating given his ability to manufacture truly unique and powerful items. It will be interesting to see how his power and knowledge grow, as well as how that impacts the overall story line. I could also see him become a huge target once his abilities become more well-known.

I have this nagging suspicion that he may have been the spy, bartering access to the Pyramid for a chance at an extended lifespan (as I recall, he was down to his last life). Also, it's quite the interesting road that Lylan travels... Excellent book! Very exciting final chapters, and the epilogue really sets up the transition to Book 9.
