2023-07-08 02:20:11 +0000 UTCI think you are correct...the Harvester vs. Ascendant thing completely slipped my mind. Your logic makes perfect sense!

2023-07-01 04:38:10 +0000 UTCWe don't have much background on the Infernal Realm but from what I read between the lines it would seem that Lalquinrial has many followers some are Harvesters that fill the Aspects roles they see him as a God but they are not his Ascendants. It is stated that he has his own type of ascendants but if he's not bound by the Pact I would assume that his version of this ascendancy might be more rough on his followers, Miranda said that he rippes off parts of their souls. To take it another step maybe Lalquinrial has his followers evaluated and see if they only have a few connections to their Meridians he might make them go his ascendancy route and if they have more than just a few connections he allows them to stay as Harvesters, this would make sense why he has enemies in the Infernal Realm. They might not agree with his rules for ascendancy. I hope that all makes sense and sorry for the text wall.

2023-07-01 04:11:46 +0000 UTCI believe all the Aspects are Harvesters so he doesn't have the option to revive them. Lalquinrial does have his own version of ascendants but I would assume that they have their souls wrapped up and can't Harvest or cultivate and not the best choice for the Aspects.

2023-07-01 03:55:20 +0000 UTCI agree. I think both are options for him. During the fight with Ruwen, Lalquinrial mentioned that if he died, those that remained synced with him would experience permadeath as well. I inferred that he does respawn at least some of his followers, and I assume the ones worthy of wearing the Aspects would fall on that list. That said, the Prologue to Book 8 includes the following lines: "Echo had wanted Ruwen to suffer, so she hadn’t told him the truth. The Infernal Realm had thousands of superb candidates for those Aspects, and if he’d killed them, new fighters would have filled those robes before they cooled. The blame for what happened on Savage Island didn’t rest on his shoulders as heavily as he believed. She bit her lip, as the guilt increased." My gut feeling is that, Lalquinrial being who he is, he can respawn followers but doesn't always bother with the energy expenditure.

2023-06-30 17:24:15 +0000 UTC(It meant killing the wearer of the Aspect hadn’t weakened Lalquinrial at all. He obviously had a line of demons waiting to wear the cursed clothing.)> It should also be possible that he respawns them like the other gods do their followers.
