June 17, 2023 - Update
Added 2023-06-17 07:07:56 +0000 UTCHi!
I had a quiet week since book 8 is with the editor. Most of it I spent on writing chapters for the Royal Road project. There is overlap between events in the RR book and books 7 and 8 that I wanted to iron out while I still had the chance. I’m not quite there yet, but hopefully this weekend I can get all my ducks in a row, before I get the book 8 edits back next week. That will catapult me into a frenzy of revision to make the deadline for Travis.
For those of you who still need signed books, the next batch is done and to the post office. Hopefully you should see them late next week or the one after.
The cover is being finalized and I’ll work a blurb next week as well. So there is a good chance the pre-order will go up next week as well. For once, I know the titles of the next two books and I’m considering paying to make the covers for books 9 and 10 far earlier than normal.
I opened up chapters 46, 47, and 48 to Root.
I opened up chapters 49, 50, and 51 to Harvester.
I added chapters 52, 53, and 54 to Step Master, Blapy’s Favorite, Divine, and Axiom.
Enjoy!
Amazon continues to lower the amount they pay authors for the KU program, and if you take inflation into consideration, it approaches a quarter of a cent per page. I only bring this up because it emphasizes the necessity for authors to find other ways to connect with fans of a series. It highlights why your support here on Patreon is so important and why it will be critical in the future. Thank you so much for going the extra mile in support of the things you enjoy. It matters more than you know.
Take care,
AFK

Thank you, Suzette! Yes, your support on Patreon is probably the best way to support an author. Thank you so much for being here!

2023-06-28 05:04:44 +0000 UTCHi! The slope for payments has been going down since the start. The truth is Amazon can do whatever they want...but on the other hand, without their program I would likely never had the chance to make the Divine Apostasy successful. So it makes me conflicted about complaining. Hopefully Amazon sees the value of authors and stops lowering KU payouts. But, in reality, the best thing is supporting your favorite authors on platforms like this. It is a huge help because it gives us an income stream not related to Amazon. That is why I appreciate you so much!

2023-06-28 05:02:39 +0000 UTCAmazon promised a flat amount of money to the KU program and as users and books goes up this does not change so pay must go down to compensate. (Aka short answer Amazon is greedy)
