Well, it’s done. The editor has it now, and I’ll do one more pass once the edits come back. Travis gets it on the 26th, and if I had to guess on a release date for everything, I would say July 17. I was hoping to show you the cover tonight, but I wanted one small change and I haven’t got the cover back yet. Sometime this week I will post it to Patreon, and you can give me your thoughts.
I worked on the RR project today, fleshing out the magic system, and I’m super excited about it. Time will tell if I’m able to handle both projects. The Divine Apostasy comes first, of course. Like some sort of masochist, I’m weaving the RR story into the timeline of the Divine Apostasy. I pray I’m able to create something epic, and not fall on my face. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
The timeline got a bit tight here at the end, as it always does, and I spent some late nights finishing the book, which means I’m beat. Book eight held a lot of surprises for me. It was the first book I massively outlined, which I think helped my productivity. The later parts of the outline went through three extreme revisions.
The intent of all those revisions was to lower the word count into something I could manage in six months. I also had a change of heart halfway through this book. Events I’d planned for book nine or ten I pulled into this book.
In fact, this book is special not only for the items I pulled into it, but for some of the decisions I made regarding the series as a whole. Specifically, how much of the story do I tell? The story so far is just the visible part of an iceberg, and like the titanic, book eight has brought you close enough to glimpse the mountain below the water. That was a terrible analogy, but it’s late, I’m tired, and I’ve had one too many cheladas.
On that note, let’s release some chapters.
I opened up chapters 43, 44, and 45 to Root.
I opened up chapters 46, 47, and 48 to Harvester.
I added chapters 49, 50, and 51 to Step Master, Blapy’s Favorite, Divine, and Axiom.
Enjoy!
I’m always humbled that you take time out of your busy week to keep up with the Divine Apostasy. It means so much to me. Thank you.
Take care,
AFK

2023-06-17 05:16:54 +0000 UTCI've never been great at juggling multiple stories at the same time. I'm hoping since they are related that it will be okay.

2023-06-17 05:07:35 +0000 UTCI love writing, but my stories will probably never see the light of day. I have several I'm working on right now, and for me it is honestly easier to get over writers block if I have a different story to fall back on (but that is mostly my adhd's fault).

2023-06-12 21:59:37 +0000 UTCHonestly I dont know if I can. It helps that the stories are in the same universe. We will see.
