Hi!

My productivity is getting better, as despite the numerous responsibilities I have, I still managed to get four chapters completed. My hope is this coming week I can improve on that.

The chapters this week created issues that slowed me down. The first centers around Lylan and how I wanted information about her to be revealed. The way it happened was not what I had expected but it feels right to me and I’ve learned to trust my intuition. This is what delayed the third chapter last week.

The second speed bump came with a conversation between Hamma and Ruwen. I really really like parts of this chapter, and think I did okay in the other sections. These types of chapters are the hardest for me to write. Some animosity toward Hamma has arisen for reasons I didn’t expect or intend, and this scene was a perfect place to address those concerns. I know this is all a bit vague, but you’ll understand better once you read the chapter. I’m interested in how you think it turned out.

What I want to accomplish in the last half of book eight is ambitious and it makes me a little nervous in the sense that I hope I can tie a bunch of things together as neatly as they appear in my head. If you’ve every tried to write your own book or paint your own picture you know exactly what I mean. What gives me confidence is that I have always succeeded in the past. Plus, I know you will let me know if I go too far off the rails.

I opened up chapters 22, 23, and 24 to Root.

I opened up chapters 25 and 26 to Harvester.

I added chapters 27, 28, 29, and 30 for Step Master, Blapy’s Favorite, Divine, and Axiom.

As I left the coffee shop and walked to my car after a writing session today I thought about how I wouldn’t do any of this without you. It’s only worthwhile when the stories find others that love them and resonate with them like I do. So thank you for being here and supporting the series. You make it all possible.
