Hi!

Where did Fall go? We had more snow this week here in the Rocky Mountains and once again I find myself asking why Fall seems to be the shortest season by about two and a half months. I’m not ready for winter and it only reminds me that the year is almost over.

Last week’s chapters didn’t get a second pass before releasing and they went out with some decisions I plan on changing. I won’t get into specifics here as many readers aren’t following along on Patreon, but the short version is Ruwen won’t use spells in those chapters.

I also realized I had isolated him again, even if briefly, which is something I wanted to avoid after the heaping dose we got of that in the last book. A scene I really like came out of it though, and so I shortened the duration considerably instead of throwing it out. We will see if it survives in the final revision, but I find a lot of joy in the ways Ruwen, as strong and OP as he is, still has vulnerabilities.

A friend recommended a book to me because he thought I’d enjoy the dialogue. He was right, and I read Tattered Pawns by C. D. Corrigan in under three days, which is fast for me. A superbly crafted and well written fantasy book. I highly recommend it.

The Grey Warden finally released on audio, and I hope it finds an audience that loves it.

A lot of distractions this week related to a future move, but I managed to get a decent amount of writing done. Some of it I really love, too. But that is best left for next week’s update.

I am still way behind in responding to comments. I will do everything in my power to get that rectified this weekend.

I am also behind on sending out signed copies. I will address that this coming week as well. For those of you who have already gotten all the Divine Apostasy books, I ordered a big shipment of The Grey Warden, and will send those out as well.

I opened up chapters 34, 35, and 36 to Root.

I opened up chapters 37, 38, and 39 to Harvester.

I added chapters 40, 41, and 42 to Step Master, Blapy’s Favorite, and Divine.
