I finished book six early in the morning this past Tuesday. Some facts (that will probably change as I do the third revision):
113 Chapters + an Epilogue
170k words
Longest book I’ve ever written (longer than The Fourth Secret)
Longest Epilogue I’ve ever written
I intended the book to be 110k words.
I pushed two major arcs out of this book and into book seven.
It will probably take me another week to finish the third revision. Then it is off to editors and proofers for two weeks, and finally a fourth revision with any fixes needed.
That means sometime between June 24th, and July 8ththe book will be ready for release. There are some giants in our genre (or adjacent genres) that suck all the oxygen out of a release. Launching near one can have a significant impact on how Amazon views your book, which determines if they show it to anyone. It is a part of the writing business I hate.
He Who Fights with Monsters (HHFWM) releases June 28th, and another, even bigger author, releases on July 5th. I have been struggling all week trying to decide what date to use for the preorder for book six.
Regardless, Root Tier and up will see all the chapters before I release the book.
Speaking of Root, I’ve opened up chapters 90 and 91 to Root.
I’ve opened up chapters 92, 93, and 94 to Harvester.
I added chapters 95, 96, and 97 to Step Master, Blapy’s Favorite, and Divine.

It can be hard to sustain the energy necessary to write a long series, but I still feel great. A large reason for that is you and your support. Knowing you enjoy the new chapters every week motivates me and keeps me excited to keep writing. Thank you so much for that gift.

And any one of those things is usually enough to derail peoples productivity in and of itself, let alone all at the same time. (Especially the normal crazy world.) But I'm glad that you were able to keep with the writing through it all. There are very few authors who are able to write books I can read (let alone enjoy), and other than a few minor things (just due to the way other char's act towards the MC) that are difficult due to my own history / circumstances (the priest that hates him (screwed him over), sift being really stupid, the star child assuming that it's views are the only ones that matter / assuming that it knows the truth without asking for it.), But I am glad that you didn't go down the route that most authors in LitRPG do (harem, lesbian, femdom.). Have a weekend, and hopefully the weather is a lil more mild in your neck of the woods.

2022-06-11 05:43:44 +0000 UTCAudio is actually better for most authors. So while we might make $3 on an ebook, we can make $4.75 on an audiobook. It's just audiobooks are much more expensive to produce. Like $5,000 range. That is why some authors don't do them. I really appreciate all your support!!!!!!

I get the paper back books(as you know I have to have a tangible book to hold with your john Hancock) plus the ebook and the audible copy. So no matter where I go I have a great read at my fingertips. I am just wondering if you get your share of the profits. Just so you know.....your series is the only one I get the physical book. I only have the audible copy of the cradle series.😉

They(whoever he is) had a huge influence on what I read. This could be some wave to ride but also your target audience tends to have limited funds so that might be a bad one to ride along with... Either way, I'll buy it when it does so you'll get the boost

Once I discovered your books I couldn't put them down till i finished them and once i found out you had a patrion I jumped on that immediately, please keep up the good work. One other thing I wanted to put out there is a tiny bit of constructive criticism. I hope this doesn't come over as rude because no offense was intended. I love the fact that you have a main character going through his journey along side his significant other, it is so rair to find that in books and I don't understand why, it seems that the love interest always devolve in to damsels in distress, martyrs or they become antagonist. The issue i have is that poor Hamma has been sidlined in the last couple of books, since the whole incident with her father she has just been in the background barely affecting the plot. All I want to say is that I would love to see Hamma step up and play a more significant role in the party. And I am convinced she can because she is a great charater just waiting to shine.
